**Rams vs. Lions Live Updates: Detroit Defeats Los Angeles 26-20 in Overtime Thriller**

In an intense overtime showdown, the Detroit Lions triumphed over the Los Angeles Rams, securing a 26-20 victory. The game was a back-and-forth battle, with both teams delivering standout plays, but Detroit managed to pull ahead in the extra period to claim the hard-fought win.

David Montgomery's 1-yard touchdown run in overtime secured a dramatic home victory for the Detroit Lions against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday night. Montgomery totaled 91 rushing yards, complementing fellow back Jahmyr Gibbs, who added 40 yards and a touchdown.

With the win, the Lions start their season 1-0, while the Rams fall to 0-1.

Detroit held the lead for much of the game, fueled by Gibbs' rushing score, a 52-yard touchdown reception from Jameson Williams, and two field goals from rookie kicker Jake Bates, who made a memorable NFL debut. Bates hit a crucial 32-yard field goal with 17 seconds remaining to send the game to overtime.

Quarterback Jared Goff completed 18 of 28 passes for 217 yards, with one touchdown and one interception. Although Williams had a standout night, star wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown was quiet, recording just three catches for 13 yards.

Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford completed 34 of 49 passes for 317 yards, with one touchdown and an interception. His lone touchdown came late in the fourth quarter on a 9-yard strike to Cooper Kupp, giving Los Angeles a brief lead until the final moments of regulation.

Stafford had to adjust in the second half, as star wide receiver Puka Nacua was sidelined with a knee injury and did not return to the game.
