Shannon Sharpe admits he was not hacked in the live video featuring an apparent sex act

Shannon Sharpe has admitted that he was the person featured in the controversial Instagram live video where viewers could hear sounds that seemed to be from a sex act.

On September 11, the NFL legend’s Instagram page, @shannonsharpe84, went live, and followers heard inappropriate noises in the background. Although the video did not show anyone on screen, the "Club Shay Shay" host confirmed that he was involved in the activity.

“It was just me being a healthy, active male,” Sharpe said during an episode of "Nightcap," the podcast he co-hosts with Chad Johnson, also known as Ochocinco.

Sharpe expressed that he was "extremely embarrassed" by the accidental leak. This admission contradicts his earlier claim on Wednesday, where he had stated that his Instagram account was hacked.

“I threw my phone on the bed,” Sharpe explained, noting that he had no idea he was live-streaming on Instagram at the time.

He revealed that he only learned about the incident when a member of his marketing team informed him that he was live and that viewers could hear sexual noises.

“My heart sank,” Sharpe said on the Nightcap podcast. “It just dropped… After that, I called my agent, the agency, and ESPN. I had to come clean. My phone wasn’t hacked.”
